Students work incredibly hard their entire lives to earn the opportunity to attend college. The time spent at a university is incredibly formative and ideally should be intellectually engaging, fun, and full of opportunity to be challenged, grow, and succeed. This unique time in a student’s life is indeed critical to both the development of the individual into an independent adult and as preparation to launch into a career.
A Degree Coach provides individualized guidance for college students focusing on retention, completion, utilization of resources, and the development of life skills. Our purpose is to help each student to achieve their goal of earning a degree while getting the most out of the college experience along the way; maximizing the opportunity and realizing their own potential.
Coaches customize the program to fit each student wherever they are in their college journey. The needs of a first-year student getting ready to attend orientation are vastly different from a senior with graduation on the horizon. Some students work with a Coach for the short term to address a particular challenge while others utilize a coach for their entire college career. Coaches employ a holistic approach assisting students with academic decisions, resource identification, enrichment opportunities, and graduation planning all the while facilitating the development of key personal skills.
