Established college students (those who have been enrolled for one semester/quarter or longer) sometimes find that the higher education experience is not all that they had hoped for. For some it may be academics, an ill-suited major or not making the adjustment to study at the college level (synthesis in lieu of memorization). Others may struggle with non-academic issues (health, financial, or social concerns, etc.) or poorly developed life skills (for example time management, organization, motivation).
Coaches help current students to identify challenges and strategize ways to address them to find success going forward. We also explore strengths (what is going right) and ways to build on those wins and move the college experience more toward the positive. Coaches also work with current students on goal-setting, both short and long-term, and break those goals down into manageable steps.
Degree Coaches work with a range of students at all phases of the college experience from the student who just finished a rough first semester/quarter to the senior anxious about what is coming next after graduation.
